Without Sour Notes / In Any Key
Play engaging, enjoyable music
in any key ... on DAY ONE!
even if you think learning piano is...
too complicated, time-consuming, and that you're "too late."

In 2014, I had started helping adults come back to the piano after years away from it (also my story). I was ushering people into a new kind of relationship with the piano and it was working.
I was on my way back from a conference and had spent some time at the piano helping another conference participant with some next steps for them, and I had a flash that blew me away.
I saw in an instant how to show people a new way to "see" the keyboard. This new angle would make it much easier to learn the 12 keys on the piano, which would make it easier to improvise with musicality and without having to worry about sour notes.
I've been playing (on and off) since I was four years old, and I've yet to see anyone else taking this approach to the piano keyboard.
Which is wild because when you see it, you may wonder like I did why people haven't been teaching piano this way for 300 years.
if you're not sure which notes will sound good together, you risk playing too many cranky ones, then get discouraged and end up quitting.
This one-hour mini-course presents a one-of-a-kind VISUAL approach to knowing which notes to play in all 12 keys.
You don't have to know a single note name!
With this in mind, you can start to express yourself authentically and musically from Day 1.
From the start, the piano becomes an ally and you begin to nurture a friendly, creative relationship with it, with music, and with yourself.

This is great because it won’t take long and you’ll learn something that will immediately change your perspective on the piano from now on. And you'll be learning with a group of others who may become musical buddies going forward. :-)
You don’t have to focus on taking notes, all the important info is easily available.
There are graphics of all the 12 keys in the back of the reference PDF, so you can always go back to make sure you understand the system as intended.
From Day 1, you can pick a key, figure out the notes to play, and start exploring
You'll know which notes to play in any key. So even if you don't always hear what you expect to hear, it will be listenable and a fun exploration.
You learn a way to "see" the notes in the key as a whole, so your mind can easily know which notes will sound good to you. This frees up your attention to listen more to the sounds themselves.
Enjoy playing the piano knowing that whatever you play will sound at least okay. You can let go of worrying about playing something that will spoil the experience. You'll be spending more of your attention on things to play rather than worrying about bad outcomes.
Finding out the piano isn't as hard as you always assumed can be a mind blower. When you have the experience of playing confidently and easily in almost no time, you find yourself wondering what else might be possible (and easier than you thought!).
The basic foundation of the 12 Keys with Ease approach. You learn a new way to "see" the piano keyboard which opens up this entirely new way to play.
There are four "types" of keys to distinguish among. When you can "see" these types of keys differently, this is the beginning of a whole new way of relating to the piano.
You'll learn how each type of key functions, operates, behaves, looks. You'll see how this manifests with each of the keys within the key "types." You'll be amazed at how easy this is, and how it changes everything for your relationship to the piano.
Now that you have this new way of seeing the piano keyboard, then a world of possibilities presents itself. You are at a blank canvas now and it can be intimidating. You'll learn a few ideas to help to get going with your creative self and the piano. You will leave feeling inspired and excited to sit and start exploring the amazing instrument that a piano is, and the amazing creator that you are!!

I started on piano at 4, early enough to prep for a thoroughly musical life, but in my teens I got inspired with bringing more healing justice and love into the world.
Throughout 20 years in social work, quantitative social systems research, computing tech support, video production for nonprofits, and political activism, I’ve collaborated with lots of good people tackling lots of good questions.
One that's always driven me is “How do we get from where we are now to where we most want to be?”
----------------------------------
For 20 years, I didn’t play much music. Sometimes I'd go to the piano and try to teach myself improvisation, but I kept hitting walls and didn’t know where to turn for help, so I kept setting it aside.
As more years ticked away, I felt more sadness at missing out on the fun and enjoyment of learning, playing, and growing musically.
In 2001, I came back to the piano in earnest and started playing professionally. I went full-time with music in 2006 and learned a lot about adult learning and about improv (musical and theatrical).
Ironically, in the process of exploring myself more deeply through musical expression, I've come to see that not only is music improv fun and engaging, it offers unique insights into how to get from where we are now to where we most want to be.
The most essential skill anyone could possibly learn is to navigate the unknown with mastery.
12 Keys with Ease opens the door to a piano approach that emphasizes creativity, self-awareness and authenticity.
The typical approach to piano involves teaching other people's music.
That approach can be arbitrary, awkward, complicated, time-consuming, boring, and discouraging.
Most people aren't looking for music careers, but would love to just sit and be able to play something engaging and enjoyable.
12 Keys with Ease makes the entire piano keyboard immediately accessible, and you can go ahead and begin exploring your own creativity through sound and music.
This approach is entirely one-of-a-kind, and may well catch on more widely in the piano pedagogy world going forward.
This is a great time to take advantage of this revolutionary approach to playing. I began teaching this approach in 2014. I initially called it Playing the Fields. (You'll see why when you learn the method.)
Until Dec 31

Try the 12 Keys with Ease mini-course risk free for 14 days. If after the class and after 2 weeks working with the class assignments, you can't work out the notes in all 12 keys on piano, feel free to contact us and we'll see if we can help you master them more quickly. If that isn't successful and you prefer to end the exploration at the end of 14 days, we'll send you a full refund.
I can appreciate why you may have that belief, and why that can feel discouraging.
Playing the Fields doesn't assume or require any musical ability, background or training.
The underlying philosophy holds that you DO have ability, although so far it may be untapped.
Playing the Fields makes it possible to begin exploring your connection to sound and music in a way that is easy, natural, and accessible.

Yes, it can help you a lot.
See Karen Gaughan's testimonial about her experience with this method. Karen was a piano performance major in college, described herself as not being comfortable improvising, and she found this approach to be liberating for her.
This perspective can help you "see" the piano keyboard in an entirely new way. This can open the door to new creative possibilities.

The Playing the Fields technique only works on piano.
The more comprehensive program, the Whole Sound System, can involve other instruments, but the Playing the Fields (12 Keys with Ease) technique is specific to the piano and helps people "see" a dn "feel" the keyboard intuitively.

We guarantee that you can learn this Playing the Fields approach, especially if you follow the class instructions and assignments for two weeks.
It is not a complicated technique, but it may take a few days to sink in, since it is pretty different from what you may be used to on piano.
If you find yourself having trouble "getting it," please give us a call to see if we can help. If you find that after 14 days it's just not working for you, let us know and you'll receive a full refund.

Oh my... I'm sorry you feel that way, and I won't spend much trying to convince you here.
This is simply a different way of "seeing" the keys on a keyboard so you can easily figure out which 7 notes to play in any key that will sound good together.
Once you know this, you can begin to play and experiment and explore to see if anything in you, including your bones, begin to resonate. :-)
From my perspective, the idea that you aren't musical doesn't come from your deepest truth.
I encourage you to check out the Playing the Fields technique and to consider looking further into the SoundYourSelf approach to sound improvisation.
What if you were to discover that you are actually quite musical after all?!!

There are lots of great things about learning this 12 Keys w/ Ease technique, but one of the coolest ones is that it can blow your mind that it's even possible! And how come nobody has thought of this before?
And how come people haven't been teaching piano this way for the last 300 years?!?!
And even cooler, you can start to wonder, "Wow, what ELSE might be possible?!!"
And then your world really starts to open up. Or that of someone you love who you may be considering giving this mini-course to.
I'm excited that you're thinking about giving this to yourself or someone you care about. I’m blessed and proud to be the channel/instrument for this fun and fascinating new approach to the piano.
As your teacher and guide, I'll do my best to help you overcome any barriers holding you back from the joy, healing power and fulfillment of spontaneous music-making!
Many blessings onward...
