Some people appreciate having a bit of language, perspective, or companionship alongside listening and sound‑based practice.
Nothing on this page is required.
Nothing here needs to be completed, understood, or agreed with.
These offerings come from different periods of this work and reflect ways I’ve explored listening, creativity, and orientation over time. You’re welcome to spend time with any of them — or none at all — and to take only what feels useful.
Some of this material was previously shared as the Musical Living Starter Kit and is now gathered here as an optional resource library.
This short video explores a perspective that has shaped much of this work: the capacity to stay present and responsive in the middle of uncertainty.
It reflects an earlier, more explanatory way I spoke about these ideas. Some people find it helpful as a piece of context — especially if they like understanding the “why” behind a practice.
You don’t need to adopt the language or conclusions here for the work itself to be meaningful.
A short PDF exploring some common conditions that narrow our creative responsiveness over time, usually unintentionally.
This isn’t meant as a diagnosis or critique, just a lens some people find clarifying.
We often don't realize that the sea we're swimming in leaves us blocked and stunted for reasons that don't make sense anymore. This list suggests ways to open to new possibilities.
An exploratory set of questions that some people use to reflect on how they tend to approach creativity, choice, and engagement.
There are no scores or right answers. It’s simply a way of noticing patterns.

(These pieces reflect conceptual frameworks that have informed this work at different times. Some are still in progress; others may remain as references rather than fully developed resources.)
In this video, you'll learn the questions ALL living things (from one-celled organisms on up) face moment to moment, more and (usually) less consciously, and how focusing on them can help you navigate more easily and successfully.
There are 3 core aspects of the cycle of creative (i.e. life) experience, and this video lays them out clearly so you can benefit immediately from this perspective.
This item will offer insights into why sound itself is such an indispensible element of this practice.
A few short videos laying out the overall architecture of the SoundYourSelf System
(These are shared not as evidence or endorsement, but as glimpses into how different people have related to this work over time.)
Comments from clients who have experienced this work and a couple of client interviews.
A short video on the background that led Daniel to create this transformational work.
(A longer‑form exploratory journey for those curious about creativity, intuition, and inner orientation.
Some people find it surprisingly deep. Others skim and move on. Both responses are fine.)
A short guided meditation created many years ago, offering a simple way to notice sound, sensation, and attention.
Some people return to it periodically. Others listen once and feel complete.
This video addresses some of the common questions about this aspect of the Holy Trinity of Improv, such as…
What do you mean by “Feel deeply”
Do I have to do a “deep dive” into my feelings to do this practice?
Do I need to be able to articulate my feelings in words?
Is this like other somatic practices like yoga, martial arts, hakomi, tapping?
This video will show you how you can begin engaging the piano to express your experience holistically, including your intuitive and analytical sides. You don’t need any piano or musical training or background for this. And you won’t need to know (and we won’t be dealing with) chords, scales, or even note names.

This summit took place in April, 2020 and included interviews with 30 improvisational musicians and actors, sound healers & scientists, and ritual leaders to explore the question of how sound improvisation can help us learn skills for navigating the unknown more successfully.
These materials come from earlier periods of this work and reflect conversations that were alive at the time (and many still are). They’re here for those who enjoy long‑form exploration.
Resources for Balancing includes these 8 interviews with...
6 elements that any personal transformation program or practice must have to be truly effective, adaptive, and sustainable.

A short questionnaire to help you to get clearer about where you are and what are most wanting from this work.

Hi and thanks for coming here to see what this work is about. I know this sounds like overly grandiose hype, so I put this kit together to connect some dots and lay out why I think this approach to personal and social transformation is as powerful as it is and why it has so much potential.
After years of struggling to convey the depths and delights of this work, I'm excited to finally be making all this easily accessible so you can explore it for free and see if it resonates.
Now, you can get answers to more of your questions about this unusual modality, why I designed the way I did, and whether it feels like something you'd like to go into more depth with.
I first published these resources as the Musical Living Starter Kit in September of 2025 and it is an ongoing evolution.
Enjoy with curiosity, and many blessings onward,
Daniel
